Free Crochet Pattern for Dustbunny - Amigurumi from My Neighbor Totoro

Amigurumi from My Neighbor Totoro

Material:-

  • Worsted-weight yarn, Black colour
  • F/5 3.75mm crochet hook
  • Poly-Fil or any stuffing of your choice
  • Yarn needle
  • Two plastic safety eyes
  • White colour Felt
Abbreviation Key:-
  • sc = single crochet
  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • dec = decrease ( join next 2 sts into 1 )
  • inc = increase ( 2 sc in next st )
Notes:-
  • This crochet Dustbunny was my lovely weekend project, just keep a consistent tension throughout the entire project.
  • Crochet in a spiral. Use something to mark the first stitch of a round and move it up as you work.
  • "The Magic Circle" is use to start each piece. Alternative technique: ch 2, then sc x6 into the second chain away from the hook. Slip stitch to join the round. This creates Round 1.
Dustbunny:-
Use Black colour yarn.
Round 1: Magic Circle with a base of 6 stitches
Round 2: inc x 6 = 12 sts
Round 3: ( 1 inc, 1 sc ) x 6 = 18 sts
Round 4: ( 1 inc, 2 sc ) x 6 = 24 sts
Round 5~8: sc in the next 24 stitches = 24 sts
Round 9: ( 1 dec, 2 sc ) x 6 = 18 sts
*insert the plastic safety eyes between Round 6~7, attach white colour felt and washer. Eyes should be about 3 stitches apart.
Round 10: ( 1 dec, 1 sc ) x 6 = 12 sts
Round 11: dec x 6 = 6 sts
Round 12: Fasten off & hide the tail
