Free Crochet Pattern for Cactus - Amigurumi Plant (English version)

Amigurumi Plant - Cactus

Material:-

• Worsted –weight yarn, Brown, Beige & Green color
• F/5 3.75mm crochet hook
• Poly-Fil or any stuffing of your choice
• Yarn needle
• 3” diameter plastic pot

Abbreviation Key:-

• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• tr = treble crochet (triple crochet)
• ch = chain stitch
• sl st = slip stitch
• dec = decrease (join next 2 sts into 1)
• inc = increase (2 sc in next st)
• BLO = back loop only
• FLO = front loop only

Notes:-

• I love greenery, but I'm a bit forgetful, I always forget to water my plant! But it's alright now, I have this cute little cactus that make my cubicle look fresh and lively everyday!
• Crochet in a spiral. Use something to mark the first stitch of a round and move it up as you work.
• “The Magic Circle” is use to start each piece. Alternative technique: ch 2, then sc x6 into the second chain away from the hook. Slip stitch to join the round. This creates Round 1.

FLOWER:-

Use Beige colour yarn.

Round 1: Magic circle with a base of 6 stitches = 6 sts

Round 2: (1 sl st, 1 sc, 1 dc, 2 tr, 1 dc, 1 sc, 1 sl st in ONE stitch) x6

Round 3: Fasten off and leave a 6” tail for sewing.

CACTUS:-

Use Green colour yarn.

Round 1: Magic Circle with a base of 6 stitches = 6 sts

Round 2: inc x6 = 12 sts

Round 3: (1 inc, sc in the next st) x6 = 18 sts

Round 4: (1 inc, sc in the next 2 sts) x6 = 24 sts

Round 5: sc in the next 24 stitches = 24 sts

Round 6: (1 inc, sc in the next 7 sts) x3 = 27 sts

Round 7-8: sc in the next 27 stitches = 27 sts

Round 9: (1 dec, sc in the next 7 sts) x3 =24 sts

Round 10-11: sc in the next 24 stitches = 24 sts

Round 12: (1 dec, sc in the next 6 sts) x3 = 21 sts

Round 13-14: sc in the next 21 stitches = 21 sts

Round 15: (1 dec, sc in the next 5 sts) x3 = 18 sts

Round 16: sc in the next 18 stitches = 18 sts

*Sew the FLOWER between Round 3 & 4.

**sl st and leave a 12” tail for sewing.

***Stuff CACTUS body with Poly-Fil and sew onto the SOIL’s body.

SOIL:-

Use Brown colour yarn.

Round 1: Magic circle with a base of 6 stitches = 6 sts

Round 2: inc x6 = 12 sts

Round 3: (1 inc, sc in the next st) x6 = 18 sts

Round 4: (1 inc, sc in the next 2 sts) x6 = 24 sts

Round 5: (1 inc, sc in the next 3 sts) x6 = 30 sts

Round 6: (1 inc, sc in the next 4 sts) x6 = 36 sts

Round 7-12: sc in the next 36 stitches = 36 sts

Round 13: (1 dec, sc in the next 4 sts) x6 = 30 sts

Round 14: (1 dec, sc in the next 3 sts) x6 = 24 sts

Round 15: (1 dec, sc in the next 2 sts) x6 = 18 sts

*sl st and stuff the body with Poly-Fil. Position and sew CACTUS onto the SOIL’s body.
